Arval: Removal of fleet livery from end-of-lease vehicles

 ·  By MontiPower Poland & Baltics  ·  2 min read

Short answer

MontiPower wyposażył Arval w narzędzia Vinyl Zapper® i przeszkolił techników do usuwania oklein flotowych z pojazdów poleasingowych. Efekt: bezpieczne usuwanie bez uszkodzenia lakieru, szybszy obieg pojazdów i niższy koszt renowacji przed odsprzedażą.

Challenge: Returning Lease Vehicles to Factory Condition

Arval, an international vehicle leasing company also operating in Poland, must restore fleet cars to factory condition before resale or re-leasing. In practice, this means removing full wraps, logos, fleet numbers, and adhesive – without damaging the paintwork.

In fleet remarketing, the quality of vehicle preparation directly impacts resale value. Scratches, dull marks from overheating, or adhesive residue lower the price, worsen buyer perception, and extend the renovation process. With a large volume of vehicles, these losses quickly add up.

MontiPower Solution

MontiPower provided Vinyl Zapper® tools and conducted practical on-site technician training. Vinyl Zapper® removes wraps using controlled rotary abrasive treatment – without heat or chemicals – eliminating two main sources of damage: overheating that softens the paint and solvents that stain the coating.

The training covered selecting the appropriate working technique for the surface type and film, as well as how to operate the tool to achieve consistent results. This ensures the outcome depends not on the experience of a single operator, but on a standardized procedure.

Implementation Effects

  • Safe removal of wraps without scratches or paint overheating.
  • Faster vehicle turnaround in the workshop and higher workstation productivity.
  • Lower renovation cost for lease-returned vehicles.
  • Better preparation for resale and higher remarketing readiness.
  • Consistent quality across the entire fleet, regardless of the operator.

In this implementation, as in other projects using Vinyl Zapper®, over 60% reduction in labor time for wrap removal was observed compared to traditional methods – which directly increases workstation throughput and lowers the unit cost of vehicle preparation.

Why This Matters for Leasing and Remarketing in Poland

For large fleets, every minute per vehicle adds up over the year. A controlled, repeatable method for removing fleet wraps shortens preparation time, lowers unit cost, and ensures consistent quality – which is crucial for the resale of lease vehicles, where the condition of the coating directly influences the price.

The model combining tools and technician training allows for maintaining the same standard across multiple workstations and locations. This is essential for fleet operators and remarketing companies that are judged on the quality and speed of vehicle turnover.

Scope of Work for Vehicle Return

Typical preparation of a lease-returned vehicle includes full side panel wraps, advertising graphics, logos, fleet numbers, and adhesive residue from previous markings. Vinyl Zapper® allows processing all these elements with a single tool, without changing the method and without risk to the underlying paintwork. Visual inspection after the process confirms no scratches or signs of overheating, which shortens quality control time.

A unified process also simplifies planning: vehicle preparation time becomes predictable, allowing for better scheduling of returns and resales across the entire fleet.
